David has been webmaster of Moira Baptist Church since 1999. The church was one of the first Baptist Churches in Ireland to have an online presence and nearly 12 years later it is still one of the highest ranked Baptist sites in Ireland. It also provides the most comprehensive page of links to the Association churches to be found anywhere.
David prefers the title web minister because he is far from being a web master. He has had no training in web design but has taught himself enough to keep the ministry going. The term webminister better describes what he is trying to do - use the internet to serve the Lord and his church.
Since David is confined so much to home, he is able to operate an effective ministry sharing prayer requests and information around the church. He is always in contact with church folk and almost always online, so prayer needs can be shared almost instantly with a large group of church e-members.
Ministry on the Web
David has written an article for churches considering an online presence and it is available on this page. It is not written by an expert but by one who understands that the web can be used for the glory of God and for the blessing of the church.
