Magurele is a town of 40,000 people. Until recently it was a major
manufacturing centre for fertilizers but the closure of the plant
has been devatating for the economy. However the recent entry into
the EU has provided possible growth and development as the town
becomes the Customs centre for a route across the Danube to Bulgaria
and beyond. A proposed new Roll on Roll off ferry will make the
street on which the church plans to build, into a main thoroughfare.
This will be a major opportunity for witness in this town and far
beyond.
